FEATURED SPEAKER - Sosena Kebede, MD, MPH

Sosena Kebede, MD, MPH Dr. Kebede is a physician and a public health professional with a rich background spanning clinical care, public health, global health, research, healthcare leadership and consultancy at various esteemed institutions over the past twenty years She was attendingfaculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she cared for patients and trained others in clinical care and at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she taught health po licy to graduate students. She has worked as a consultant in healthcare quality improvement for several years, both locally and abroad, including at the Johns Hopkins University Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, and for the World Bank.
Her leadership experiences include leadinga global health project for Yale University School of Public Health in Ethiopia, working as a Chief Medical Officer for a federally qualified health center in Connecticut during the pandemic as we as founding a community health project for the Baltimore City community in Maryland She recently founded amsubscription-based direct primary care and consulting practice called Saliglasa which focuses on quality of healthcare and patient engagement. Saliglasa also offers training and consultancy services to organizations that want to improve their healthcare service delivery and enhance health outcomes of their clients.
Dr. Kebede obtained her Bachelor of Science from Duke University, her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and her Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Passionate about community empowerment and public health, Dr. Kebede brings a wealth of experience in shaping healthcare landscapes. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new destinations through travel and finds solace in nature..
